The most common is the TSOP 48 NAND, which is a basic memory chip with 48 legs, each representing a specific purpose whether for data, power or the control gate.
TSOP 48 Short is essentially the same as TSOP 48, the only difference is the physical size of the chip itself.
LGA 52 is another popular memory chip, physical differences are obvious in that there are no legs as with the TSOP and instead the contacts are located at the underside of the chip.
Monolithic chips can come in a number of different shapes and sizes. Unlike the other memory chips, monolithic chips often cannot be read in the same way. While the contacts are still present, they are often located beneath a layer of lacquer and for the most part the identity of each contact needs to be researched and verified to allow connection via a ‘pinout’ which allows bridging connections from a adaptor that will allow reading to the individual relevant contacts on the monolith.
The chips here do not consist of all the memory chips available, but for the most part the majority of chips will likely fall into one of these 4 categories.
